Quality is more than a management objective. It’s a way of life for every employee at Precision. It starts at the beginning of every workday and ends with our customers’ satisfaction.

Six Sigma

Precision Rail and Mfg is committed to self-investment and growing our resources to continue to meet the demands of quality, consistency, in-time delivery and cost efficiency.

For years, we’ve maintained a full-time Six Sigma Black Belt training program for our employees in lean manufacturing principals, and we have dozens of Six Sigma Green Belts on staff. This allows us to maintain the highest standards by adopting kaizen, lean manufacturing, cost improvement, structured new product development and project-based process changes on both the shop floor and in our offices.

Getting it right

As an ISO 9001-2008 certified company, Precision Rail and Mfg’s quality department utilizes APQP, Process FMEA, vision inspection equipment and an extensive line of hand gauges.

We use two Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to verify customer-supplied tolerances are met. The CMM employs a 3D model, which we compare to the actual, finished part.

It’s important for your manufacturer to insist on quality. But it only matters if your manufacturer can back it up with visual proof.
